It is a good idea to microchip your cat. Even indoor cats may get out of your home at some point. A tagged collar might help get kitty home, but it can just as easily come off if snagged on a branch. Microchips are as small as a rice grain and have all of your important contact information. Most vets and all shelters can scan these chips to get your contact information and there is no risk of losing the chip.
Give your cat plenty of love and affection. They usually offer us warm companionship, and they require the same. They are social creates which need reassurance. Cats want to feel loved and needed.
Male felines tend to have a build-up of crystals that present in the urine, so you need to avoid this with proper nutrition. These crystals can cause a lot of pain to your cat and could end up costing you a lot in medical expenses. Choose a low magnesium food. This means you should pay attention to labels on food. Products including fish have a higher magnesium content then poultry based products.
Cover the area around your cat's bowl with a cloth. Certain cats prefer removing their food from their bowl and putting it on the side to eat it. Sometimes this will make the area around the bowl messy, and you'll have to clean it. Simply place a cloth placemat that will grab at the food under their plate and then shaken out over the trash. You can put a vinyl one underneath that can be picked up wiped down easily if you prefer.
